This Privacy Policy explains how the Review Agent Extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and protects your data. The Extension is designed to help users generate professional responses to reviews by processing text you select on a webpage.

1. Data We Collect

  • User-Provided API Token: You enter your API token to use the Extension. This token is stored locally using Chrome's storage and is used only for validating your access with our server.
  • Selected Text and Generated Responses: When you highlight text on a webpage, the Extension sends this text to our server to generate a reply. The text you select and the resulting response are stored locally to allow you to review past interactions.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Processing Requests: Your highlighted text is sent to our server solely to generate an AI-based response. We do not store this text on our servers beyond the processing period.
  • Local Storage: The API token, selected text, and the last generated response are stored using Chrome's storage. This information remains on your device and is not sent to any third parties.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
  • The Extension communicates only with our own server endpoints reviewagent.onrender.com for processing your selected text.

4. Remote Code

  • The Extension does not use remote code.
  • All code required for the Extension is included within the package. The Extension makes fetch requests to our server for processing but does not load or execute external scripts.

5. Data Security

  • We use standard security measures to protect data stored locally in your browser.
  • Communication with our server endpoints is done over secure channels.

6. Your Control and Choices

  • You can delete your API token, selected text, and generated responses from your Chrome storage at any time.
  • If you do not wish to share your API token or selected text, you may disable the Extension.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally.
  • Any changes will be posted in a new version of the Privacy Policy, along with an updated effective date.
